Production
In order to sell all our Gardengirls® a lot of efforts in production and marketing are needed. The plant in the Gardengirls® pot is at least 18 months old from the cutting to the finished crop.
The Gardengirls® are produced by over 325 family-owned growers in all regions in Germany (175) and the European neighbouring countries (150). With the regional production the risks can be reduced and important markets can be served by local growers.
The majority of growers are geared for high-number production and won’t sell to the consumer directly.
Our growers produce the Gardengirls® with a lot of love and manual care for a long period of time. The small cuttings are harvested from mother plants and set into trays. Later the Gardengirls® are potted in larger pots and cultivated in the open field to full size and beauty. Plants get irrigated mainly with special boom carriages which slide over the fields and provide just enough water as needed. The finished product is loaded onto the flower carts used by the entire horticultural industry and shipped to garden markets for sale to the customer.
