About Hönning

Since 1968, the Hönning family has been running the horticultural business in Geldern-Walbeck in the Lower Rhine region and has been cultivating bedding and balcony plants as well as Erica gracilis for more than 40 years. 30 years ago, Gartenbau Hönning was one of the first businesses to include Calluna of the Gardengirls brand in its range. The horticultural business produces on approximately 2.5 hectares under glass and about 20 hectares of open land.

Every year in the autumn from September to November, one of the two variety shows of the Gardengirls takes place at Hönning. In Geldern-Walbeck, in an easily accessible location next to the shipping hall on Wachtendonker Street, visitors can view the Gardengirls assortment, especially the new NEXXT varieties, throughout the entire sales period and get inspired for the current and upcoming autumn season.

Range overview

The assortment includes bedding and balcony plants, various perennials, Calluna Gardengirls, and heather plants. The top sellers of the autumn season are the Gardengirls with their wide variety of species. The various Gardengirls varieties are cultivated in 12 cm, 19 cm, and 24 cm pots, and in 23 cm trays as single-color Callunas, Twins, Trios, and Quattros. In addition to the Gardengirls, the horticultural business also offers other autumn items such as Erica arborea, Erica darleyensis, and Erica gracilis, which pair well with the Gardengirls varieties.

For several years, Hönning has also been producing young plants for Gardengirls and places great emphasis on maintaining consistently high quality for its products. Gartenbau Hönning mainly propagates the young plants in QP273 as single-color and Twins. Particularly noteworthy is the production of young plants as short crops in QP77 and QP150, as single-color, Twins, and Trios. Even short-term requests can be accommodated.

The prizes drawn will be listed in the respective contest description. Cash payout or exchange of the prizes are excluded. Prizes cannot be transferred to third parties (unless otherwise agreed in the contest). Participation in the prize draw is open to those who answer the contest question(s) correctly or fulfill the contest conditions.

Each participant can only participate once per contest. Multiple comments will be counted as a single entry. Comments that violate Instagram guidelines, German law and/or copyright will be removed without notice upon knowledge. The participant is thereby excluded from winning. The winner must contact info@gardengirls.de via email or send a private message to the Gardengirls Instagram page with their address details within 5 business days. If the winner does not contact within this period, the prize will be redrawn among all participants. All Instagram names of the participants will be recorded and stored for determining the winner.

All data will be deleted no later than 30 days after the end of the contest. Address details will only be collected from the winners and used for shipping the prize.
