Setting New Standards in Production

About Gartenbau Mosler

Gartenbau Mosler is a traditional company that was founded in 1953 in the Lower Rhine region of Germany. Initially, it functioned as a settlement farm specializing in growing vegetables for the local population. However, the company's true journey began when Siegfried and Elisabeth Mosler took over the business in 1978 and transformed it into a cut flower operation. The energy crisis of the late 1970s presented new challenges, forcing Gartenbau Mosler to realign its focus towards potted plant production, with a particular emphasis on azaleas and ericas.

This strategic decision proved to be a golden one, paving the way for Gartenbau Mosler's success. In 1992, the company underwent further expansion through the acquisition of another business, this time adding Calluna bud bloomers to its product range. Since 1996, the company has been a licensee of the Gardengirls® brand, a pioneer in heather cultivation. Today, Gartenbau Mosler operates on an impressive outdoor area of approximately 7 hectares, specializing in the production of uniform-colored Callunas in 9.5cm/10cm volume pots, as well as in the production of young plants. The company continues to evolve, preparing itself for a sustainable future in horticulture.

Latest News at Mosler

Gartenbau Mosler is always striving to overcome the current challenges in horticulture. Faced with labor shortages and the energy transition, they are addressing these challenges with state-of-the-art technology and intelligent solutions. Multifaceted digitization and the use of artificial intelligence (AI) are becoming increasingly important in this regard. Gartenbau Mosler has invested in innovative technical support in this area. These include a pricking-out robot and an automated potting machine from TTA. Additionally, a cutting robot is being considered for even greater efficiency, and it has already been tested experimentally in the company's operations.

These technologies enable a more efficient production process and guarantee consistently high quality. The pricking-out robot simultaneously handles 18 young plants, allowing them to grow optimally afterward, while the potting machine accelerates the potting process and also alleviates the workload for staff. In this way, Gartenbau Mosler is setting new standards in their operation and facing current challenges with bold and forward-thinking solutions. The company's sustainable practices and social structures are confirmed by relevant MPS ABC and MPS SQ certifications.
