About Gartenbau Stefan Gerritzen

The horticulture business Stefan Gerritzen from Kevelaer, on the Lower Rhine, was founded in 1964 by Franz Gerritzen as a cut flower business. In 1970, they transitioned to potted plants, - mainly heathers and azaleas were produced. With the entry of the newly minted master Stefan Gerritzen, the company added the Gardengirls to their product range in 1998. Since 2008, Stefan Gerritzen has been running the business in the second generation. On an area of 20 hectares, the company primarily produces Gardengirls, including the environmentally friendly dyed Callunas "Sunshine Flowers Picasso",

as well as flower bed and balcony plants from our own brand "Sunshine Flowers Solanum". Sustainable production plays an important role at Gerritzen. The company is certified according to Global G.A.P. and the plant pots are made entirely from recycled material. In addition, all irrigation water in the greenhouse is filtered and reused. In the open field, a long-term fertilizer is directly mixed into the potting, which provides for the plants during the growth phase.

Gartenbau Gerritzen invests heavily in modern technology to ease work processes and relieve employees. The use of 4 Cornelissen forklifts and a yard loader with pot forks greatly facilitates the work. For internal transport, special transport carts were built that can be loaded with the forklifts without manual labor. Also noteworthy is the innovative potting and planting line

with 2 buffer tables, which significantly speeds up the production of around 3.3 million plants annually. For calluna propagation, a new greenhouse has just been built by Vermako, equipped with an automatic misting system, to take on even more orders in the future as a propagation business.

Gartenbau Gerritzen has been producing Calluna of the Gardengirls brand for over 25 years. In addition to numerous individual varieties in 11 and 12 pots, combinations like Trios and Smixies are naturally also included, as well as Mini Girls in 6 pots. A special feature are the "Sunshine Flower Picassos", which are Gardengirls that are in their own pots and are sprayed with environmentally friendly plant paint in the greenhouse in a self-developed machine at the point of sale.

The prizes drawn will be listed in the respective contest description. Cash payout or exchange of the prizes are excluded. Prizes cannot be transferred to third parties (unless otherwise agreed in the contest). Participation in the prize draw is open to those who answer the contest question(s) correctly or fulfill the contest conditions.

Each participant can only participate once per contest. Multiple comments will be counted as a single entry. Comments that violate Instagram guidelines, German law and/or copyright will be removed without notice upon knowledge. The participant is thereby excluded from winning. The winner must contact info@gardengirls.de via email or send a private message to the Gardengirls Instagram page with their address details within 5 business days. If the winner does not contact within this period, the prize will be redrawn among all participants. All Instagram names of the participants will be recorded and stored for determining the winner.

All data will be deleted no later than 30 days after the end of the contest. Address details will only be collected from the winners and used for shipping the prize. No data will be shared with third parties. Participants have legal rights to information, modification, and revocation. The legal process is excluded.
