About Gartenbau van Loon

The van Loon horticultural business was founded in 2024 by Tobias van Loon. After five years of partnership, he took over the Gesthüsen horticulture business and is now looking ambitiously into the future. The Gesthüsen business was a family business in Kevelaer on the Lower Rhine. The business was founded in 1961 by Hans Gesthüsen and was led from 1993 by Günter Gesthüsen in the second generation. Over the years, the business has grown to over 13 hectares of production area.

In addition to the business area, the assortment has also been greatly expanded to be able to offer a wide range all year round. Van Loon sees itself not only as a producer but also as a service provider aiming to fulfill all customer wishes. Over 13 employees are actively involved in producing the 2 million plants annually. Quality, the latest technology, the newest innovations, and over 60 years of experience are the focus of the horticultural business.

What's new at van Loon?

In January 2024, Tobias van Loon founded the horticultural business van Loon, formerly known as Gartenbau Gesthüsen. Together with the previous owner Günter Gesthüsen, van Loon has worked hard over the past five years to optimize the operation's processes. One of the projects was the installation of a new watering technology on three hectares of production area. With a modern energy chain, the watering process is facilitated and helps the employees enormously. The renovation of four hectares,

a large part of the container areas, was also carried out, for which lava areas were created and covered with new foil. Most recently, the corporate invested in a new photovoltaic system, taking an important step towards autonomous power supply. So it will be interesting to see what creative ideas and projects Tobias van Loon will implement next to further optimize the operation.

Range overview

Van Loon offers a wide range of different plants. This includes various varieties of Gardengirls, both as individual plants and as twins or trios, or even more colorful combinations. In addition, the range includes more autumn plants such as Erica Darleyensis and Erica Arobrea - African Gold. From spring onwards, primroses and bedding and balcony plants are also offered, with Osteospermum and carnations among others in the assortment. Last but not least, perennials, including salvias and carnations, expand the year-round offering from van Loon.

General information for Instagram contests

The organizer of the contest is Gardengirls Heidezüchtung GmbH, 26188 Edewecht (hereinafter referred to as Gardengirls). Eligible to participate are all individuals who are at least 18 years old and have their current residence in Germany. All Gardengirls employees and their relatives are excluded. The prizes drawn will be listed in the respective contest description. Cash payout or exchange of the prizes are excluded. Prizes cannot be transferred to third parties (unless otherwise agreed in the contest). Participation in the prize draw is open to those who answer the contest question(s) correctly or fulfill the contest conditions.

Each participant can only participate once per contest. Multiple comments will be counted as a single entry. Comments that violate Instagram guidelines, German law and/or copyright will be removed without notice upon knowledge. The participant is thereby excluded from winning. The winner must contact info@gardengirls.de via email or send a private message to the Gardengirls Instagram page with their address details within 5 business days. If the winner does not contact within this period, the prize will be redrawn among all participants. All Instagram names of the participants will be recorded and stored for determining the winner.

All data will be deleted no later than 30 days after the end of the contest. Address details will only be collected from the winners and used for shipping the prize. No data will be shared with third parties. Participants have legal rights to information, modification, and revocation. The legal process is excluded. The announcement of the winners is without guarantee.
