About Rannacher Gartenbau

The horticulture company Rannacher, based in East Westphalia, has been managed by Karsten Rannacher and his wife Ulrike since 2008. Karsten Rannacher comes from a family of gardeners in Saxony and already represents the third generation devoted to horticulture. In July 2020, their daughter Michelle, along with her husband Felix, joined the family business. On an area of 2.5 hectares of greenhouses and about 15 hectares of open land, Rannacher Horticulture produces Callunas, Gaultherias, Ericas, and indoor azaleas, from cuttings to finished products.

Through automation and modern technology, such as the Space-O-Mat, a potting machine, and a spreading machine, production processes are designed efficiently. Sustainability plays an important role for the family business. Therefore, environmentally friendly adjustments have been made in various areas of the production process, such as the use of peat-reduced substrate and depot fertiliser and the use of pots and sales pallets made of recycled material. Most of the vehicles already run on electricity and the required power is produced with their own photovoltaic system.

What's new at Rannacher?

Like many other horticulture businesses, Rannacher Gartenbau is currently faced with declining numbers of skilled workers. To meet this challenge and maintain high product quality, Rannacher is investing heavily in modern technology. For example, a delivery fork, the so-called Space-O-Mat, supports production by enabling a uniform setup of various container sizes. In addition, a modern potting line and

sticking line allow for efficient, continuous production and ensure consistent quality. As Rannacher is focused on constant innovations and ultimately also on sustainability, they recently started mulching young plants. This serves to reduce weed pressure in the later cultivation phase and to minimize failures. This further reduces the use of chemical aids in the process.

The range of Gartenbau Rannacher includes Azaleas, Gaultheria, Ericas, and Callunas. For several decades, the family business has been a partner and producer of Gardengirls. Annually, more than half a million Gardengirls are produced in TB12 pot sizes and 23cm bowls. The range also includes cuttings and young plants in QP35 or QP54. In addition to individual plants, twins, trios, and quintos are also produced. The latest Gardengirls trend varieties are always available. Rannacher Horticulture produces all of its cultures from its own mother plant stock.

Processing of data (customer and contract data)

The prizes drawn will be listed in the respective contest description. Cash payout or exchange of the prizes are excluded. Prizes cannot be transferred to third parties (unless otherwise agreed in the contest). Participation in the prize draw is open to those who answer the contest question(s) correctly or fulfill the contest conditions.

Each participant can only participate once per contest. Multiple comments will be counted as a single entry. Comments that violate Instagram guidelines, German law and/or copyright will be removed without notice upon knowledge. The participant is thereby excluded from winning. The winner must contact info@gardengirls.de via email or send a private message to the Gardengirls Instagram page with their address details within 5 business days. If the winner does not contact within this period, the prize will be redrawn among all participants. All Instagram names of the participants will be recorded and stored for determining the winner.

All data will be deleted no later than 30 days after the end of the contest. Address details will only be collected from the winners and used for shipping the prize. No data will be shared with third parties. Participants have legal rights to information, modification, and revocation. The legal process is excluded.
